French Laundry

Any time you go to the Napa Valley, it's a food and wine orgy!

Finally, we feasted at the reservation-required-cum-don't-let-me-be-late gastronomic mecca, French Laundry.

The tasty, unforgetable lobster pancake poached in butter, brioche freshly warmed, toasted and served for your fois gras, ever-present (yet non-intrusive) service, light califlower puree meets salty Sevruga carvier, salad of micro-green argula. And those golden Yukon potatoes...more please! While the portions are true to a "chef's tasting menu," after the 3rd course out of 9, you'll thank Thomas Keller for anticipating the delicate sizes.

The house's clothespin memorabilia felt like a precious gem from Cartier.
